If you've read this blog at all, you know by know that my mantra is the more simple - the better. I don't know if its the 3 children, maybe I'm getting old, or maybe its just my overly-practical personality, but I love things done simply yet beautifully. I really do teeter totter on a minimalist mindset at times, and I love incorporating that simple mindset into my decor. Who has time to spend hours on floral designs for either an event or just decorating your home for holidays and such? I certainly don't, and I imagine you don't, either! I love the design of this arrangement because of its simple, rustic look. This piece was implemented by simply wiring the curly willow together and then wiring the jute ribbon in a flowing sporadic arrangement on top. The live carnations were then sewn to the willow branches, but you could also wire them if need be.
The arrangement lasted 3 days before the fresh carnations started to wilt, but I did spritz them each day. It could be made into a season long arrangement by using silk instead of fresh flowers. This floral arrangement is romantic, simple, and has so many possibilities for placement; mantle, doorway, archway, etc.....
