This Friday marks the first installment of "Friday Flips." A new series of postings, where I'll highlight furniture flips that I've finished over the last few months. I love to take things that people would normally discard and turn them into something beautiful. I found this sweet little mid-century lounge chair at a thrift store a few months ago (I never said I worked fast!). The piece had good bones and no damage, so in the car it went! I stripped the piece completely as I originally thought that I would give it more of an unfinished rustic feel (imagine a mid-century styling meets farmhouse look), but the look just didn't jive. I then luckily found these white cushions that were brand new and just knew that I needed to stain it darker to really make the cushions pop. The chair would have normally been left the teak color as I'm really strict about furniture staying true to its time period, but this chair really asked for a darker stain. What I was left with was a super cute chair that is not only updated but more comfortable than ever! I really hated to let this adorable piece go, but I unfortunately can't keep all my pieces.
